Toshami Calvin – Beauty Pageant Titleholder, Model & Autism Advocate – Jamaica

Toshami Calvin is best known for winning Miss Universe Jamaica 2022 and subsequently representing Jamaica at the 71st Miss Universe competition. Her public profile is more about pageantry, education, Jamaican identity and advocacy than adult entertainment. She has a master’s degree in health studies and has worked as a registered behavioural technician with autistic children. During her reign, she specifically identified autism awareness and improving access to services for children with special needs in rural Jamaica as an area she wanted to champion. She also won the Best in Evening Gown and Essence of Style awards at the Jamaican competition.

Calvin’s public image is therefore much closer to the traditional beauty-pageant model of beauty, confidence, presentation and community service than to an adult-content career. She competed in swimsuit, evening-gown and national-costume segments, but that shouldn’t automatically be interpreted as a statement about her private views on sex or nudity. I haven’t found reliable public documentation establishing her political affiliation, detailed religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or a particular philosophy about pornography or sexual activity. What is much clearer is her pride in Jamaican and Caribbean heritage and her emphasis on using public visibility for advocacy.
